A recent re-advertising of the BitTorrent File System (BTFS) was not appropriately handled by Juan Benet, the creator of the Interplanetary File System(IFPS). Bennet pointed out that there were a few similarities between the new BTFS logo and that of IFPS.

The BitTorrent team tweeted that IFPS should be thankful to BitTorrent as they paved the way for the distributed file sharing industry.

Ethereum founder, Vitalik Buterin, further got in the middle of this dispute by mentioning the zombification of BitTorrent under the leadership of Justin Sun.
