Bitcoin tests $9000 as altcoins continue to surge.

The first few weeks of 2020 for cryptocurrencies have been pretty good. The leading cryptocurrency bitcoin from hovering around $7,000 last month is nearing $9,000 at the moment.

The price of the leading cryptocurrency has gained a positive momentum this week. Earlier, the rise in price coincided with the successful launch of CME bitcoin options this week. Along with bitcoin, bitcoin SV (SV), Dash, Zcash also saw a noticeable spike in their price.

 

Bitcoin is nearing the $9,000 mark.

At the time of writing the leading cryptocurrency, bitcoin is changing hands at just above $8,950. In the last 24 hours bitcoin almost gained 3% from around $8,650 to above $8,900. Bitcoin’s total market capitalization has increased to $162 billion, with the market dominance of 66.1%. Ethereum Classic was the highest gainer in the last 24 hours as it is trading $10 up 31.45%.

 

Bitcoin SV continues to rise.

Bitcoin SV has been the most successful coin this week as it has gained over 100% this month. In the last 24 hours, Bitcoin SV (BSV) is up 10% at $317. Other altcoins that saw a noticeable gain include Binance Coin (9.14%), EOS, (8.84%), Bitcoin Cash (7.8%). Earlier, Binance revealed that they are in negotiations with Yahoo Japan subsidiary Z corp and TaoTao that will allow Binance to enter the Japanese market.
