Yuga Labs Partners With Eminem And Snoop Dogg

Yuga Labs, the company behind the popular nonfunible token (NFT) collection Bored Ape Yacht Club, will be part of a one-of-a-kind rollout, according to a press release. The company has partnered with rap legends Marshal “Eminem” Mathers and Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Cordozar to perform on the Metaverse.
The presentation will take place on August 28 during the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). Eminem and Snoop Dogg will perform the song “From the D 2 The LBC”.

This is the first time in several years that both artists have performed at this event, and it will be the first Metaverse-inspired performance in the history of this awards ceremony.

Eminem will be performing for the first time in 12 years, most recently performing “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” in 2010. With 60x nominations, the superstar is the second most nominated artist in “VMA” history, after Madonna with 69. He won 13 times, making him one of the top 5 highest-paid artists. He recently released his second biggest hit album “Curtain Call 2”. Snoop Dogg will perform on the “VMA” stage for the first time in 17 years, lastly in 2005 with Diddy and Notorious BIG.

Artists are very active in the crypto industry. Snoop Dogg has launched his own NFT collection that allows fans access to the Metaverse in partnership with The Sandbox.

The Snoop Dogg collection includes more than 10,000 unique, “handmade” and “playable” Metaverse Avatars called The Doggies. The artist was directly involved in the process of designing and creating these digital assets. NFT can be traded on the popular digital marketplace OpenSea.

Is Yuga Labs Pioneering Innovation Between Real and Digital Worlds?

On the other hand, Eminem collaborated with Snoop Dogg to start the music for their song “From The D 2 The LBC” on Metaverse. Artists presented their videos at ApeFest 2022, a popular event for BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) owners, another Yuga Labs collection.

He has performed with Eminem and other popular musicians such as Snoop Dogg, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, The Roots, and others. Legendary rappers have used the iconography and imagery of Yuga Labs NFT collections.

VMAs may be just the first of several Metaverse rollouts. At the time of writing, Ethereum (ETH) is trading at $1,700 with 1% profit and 7% loss in the last 24 hours and 7 days, respectively.
