In recent news, Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether and Bitfinex exchange made a huge announcement of shifting their USDT tokens from Omni Protocol to ERC-20.
Followed by this tweet, Paolo again tweeted pointing out that one of the transactions involving 100 million USDT was transferred. Then more tweets followed by this as the Whale Alert tweets.
The statistics of USDT tokens available on various blockchains are published on Tether’s website. Currently, about half the Tether coins are Omni-based(they are worth $2.82 billion). ERC-20 based coins reached a value of $1.45 billion. Tron’s blockchain has USDT tokens worth 107 million. EOS has USDT tokens worth $251 million. In July, Tether also partnered with Algorand Blockchain for issuing their USDT tokens.
