Blockchain technology has been booming lately, and we have seen new improvements in technology. Blockchain is making some functional improvements, and it’s making its way to new and broader fields of usage.

Recently, two American historians have won the patent for a recording system that will be based on blockchains to get ballistic data. The United States Patent and Trademark Office gave two investors- Jason Palazzolo and Kevin Barnes the patent for a “firearm environmental recording apparatus and network” back in July.

This recording apparatus could consist of many things like camera, mic, and a plasma screen sensor module that will be used to record velocity, spatial measurements, and acceleration data.

Justifire, the company founded by Jason Palazzolo is a company that provides such data recording apparatus on their website which gets attached at the end of a pistol to record the data. This is known as the “black box for a firearm.” It has the same features as were mentioned above- video, sound, and spatial recording and data collection.

The reason why this device was promoted is to provide proof of self-defense. This device can help the user to provide evidence of why a severe action like that was taken in the first place. The information and video footage that involves violent acts with a handgun are automatically recorded and encrypted, which makes these accessible to Justifire Technologies LLC.

This information will only be accessible to the company, and it will be released only on the special request of the owner of the firearm. A bill was passed with the title “Imposes Restrictions on Using Firearm Tracking Technology,” which involved the facts that misuse and misconduct of the technology in any way will be punishable in the future.
