US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced that they are suspending fundings to the World Health Organisation. US President Donald Trump had earlier warned that they would look into the suspending of funding to the WHO. Now, the Trump administration has officially announced to suspend payments to the World Health Organisation during a global pandemic. Trump said,

“Everybody knows what is going on there. American taxpayers provide between $400 million and $500 million per year to the WHO. China contributes roughly $40 million.”

President further noted that they have to insist upon full accountability, one of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations.

US President Trump blames WHO for covering up coronavirus with China.

US President Donald Trump, whose actions to contain the coronavirus outbreak were considered inadequate, is now blaming the WHO for covering up the outbreak with China. The President said that the reality is that the WHO failed to adequately obtain and share information in a timely and transparent fashion. The world depends on the group to work with countries to ensure that accurate information about international health is shared on time, he added.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom (1) had earlier responded to Trump’s criticism saying that no one should politicize the pandemic. The WHO had declared the coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic on 11th March. WHO chief also said that the United States and China should come together and fight this dangerous enemy. The total number of positive COVID 19 cases has crossed two million, and over 123,000 people have died so far.
