A news outlet in Singapur used Prime Minister  Lee Hsien’s made up comments to provoke people to invest in Bitcoin. The Monetary Authority of Singapore on Friday exposed the outlet and warned everyone to not to believe such news. The website used PM’s National Day Message to solicit bitcoins.

Later MAS told that all comments attributed to PM on the website are fake. According to MAS, the site also asked people to provide credit card numbers to put funds in a bitcoin trading platform. MAS also advised people to be aware of such scams PM did not mention anything about the cryptocurrency. Over the last year, there have been many instances where websites have used pictures of different politicians to promote bitcoin investments.

MAS also advised people to no to give any personal information to such websites and if come across any article or news that might be a scam should report to local authorities.
