According to the local Russian News reports, St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Railways received an anonymous letter threatening to blow up railway stations if 50 bitcoins are not paid. According to the letter, drones would be used to blow up the railway stations.

Currently, the matter is being investigated by the police. The attacker gave the deadline till 5th November before he starts blowing railway stations. Currently, the price of 50 BTC is worth $460,400. The attacker also demanded to send the amount of 50 BTC to many different wallets.

The crimes related to Bitcoin ransom are constantly increasing. The criminals prefer to receive a ransom in bitcoin because it makes it challenging for the police to track the person as the payment method is privacy centered.
