Are you buying XRP just for the Swell Conference?
If the answer to the question is Yes for you, you might be just doing a big mistake. While Ripple holds the Swell Conference every year, the event has nothing to do with the XRP price on the rise. There are other parameters the price of XRP depends on, Swell conference being less than 0.1% of it in our opinion. So do not go long on XRP just for the sake of one single event.
Any news during SWELL is a bonus, but we’re not expecting any announcements during the conference.

What happened during/after Swell 2017?
For those that we around for Swell 2017 there was all the noise around price bump for XRP then the speculators were upset because no major announcement. Swell is for Ripple customers not the speculators

Yes, the price of XRP came down because no significant announcement was made and people were speculating a lot. The same could happen this year too.
