The coronavirus outbreak has taken over 21,000 lives so far, and over 450,000 have been found positive of COVID 19. The blockchain company behind the XRP, Ripple, has announced to join the fight against the coronavirus. Besides allowing workers to work from home, Ripple has announced to donate $200,000 as part of the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ripple ensures that individuals will continue to make cross-border transactions.

The CEO of Ripple, Brad Garlinghouse tweeted that like many businesses, their highest priority is the well being of its team as COVID-19 developed over the past several months, the global team has transitioned to remote work, in efforts to stay safe while continuing to support our customers. He further added that they are everything for customers around the globe to ensure individuals can continue to send money home to loved ones in a time they need it most.

Crypto companies come forward to help fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Ripple is not the only one that has taken steps to fight the coronavirus pandemic. Binance Charity also commenced a campaign dubbed ‘Crypto Against COVID-19.” The exchange has put aside $1 million to be used in the campaign and help fight the coronavirus outspread. Blockchain company Tron, founded by Justin Sun, had also come forward to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in China.
