Riccardo Spagni and Charlie Lee talked about the biggest hurdles that the leading cryptocurrency bitcoin has to overcome.

During an episode of Magical Crypto Friends, the former lead developer of Monero, Riccardo Spagni, Litecoin creator, Charlie Lee, and Blockstream’s CSO Samson Mow, talked about some of the biggest hurdles that bitcoin has to overcome. The challenges, including privacy, ease of use, awareness, and scams.

“People want to move towards more financial privacy.”

The Litecoin creator Charlie Lee said that it possible that bitcoin would not be private on the base level, but he asserted that people always want to move towards more financial privacy. Lee further added that it is not a question of whether it will happen, but where it happens. Blockstream’s CSO Samson Mow said that there were some people with the perspective that bitcoin would never have privacy protocol on the base layer.

Has bitcoin become easier to use over the last few years?

Crypto experts also debated about whether bitcoin has become easier to use over the years or not. Bitcoin maximalist Whale Panda said that ease-of-use is one of the major issues when it comes to bitcoin, and it has improved a lot in the last two years. However, Riccardo Spagni does not share the same view. He said that it has become easier to use only for the people already familiar with the technology and not for the newcomers.
