July turned out to be a very green month for the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin (BTC) rose by almost 20%, and Ethereum (ETH) even by almost 60%. Total market capitalization peaked at $1.15 trillion on Saturday.
However, August is already starting in the red. Most cryptos in the top 100 are slightly down, and the market cap is down 1.1% to $1.13 trillion. However, there are some significant outliers today.
The ether price peaked not Saturday but already Thursday, at around $1,780. Over the weekend, ETH held steady above $1,700 and shot as high as $1,740 on Saturday night and last night. However, after that, ETH dropped below $1,700 and has not been able to recapture this level since then.
Tron (TRX) is cautiously 0.5% in the green this morning and comes in at $0.069. Shiba Inu (SHIB) made another big bounce last night, making the price 2.4% in the plus today. However, SHIB is currently falling below $0.000012. Polkadot (DOT) made a high jump last night, which means that the price is no less than 7.4% in the plus today. DOT is currently down at $8.75
Although less crypto is on the green side, the percentages are higher. EOS, Elrond (EGLND), aave (AAVE), and kava (KAVA) are up 4%, Waves (WAVES) and iota (MIOTA) 5%, and Kusama (KSM) 7%. BitTorrent is up 8.5% today, but file coin (FIL) is the day’s big winner. The FIL rate is no less than 24% in the plus today and now 77% compared to a week ago.
