New York, the epicenter of the Coronavirus outbreak in the United States, reported a drop in the new numbers of infected and deaths.

The United States of America has reported the highest number of Coronavirus – COVID 19 cases in the entire world. There seems to be a flicker of hope on the horizon as New York reported a drop in the new number of cases in a long time. New York is the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the USA. But the US President, Donald Trump has warned that the pandemic will reach its peak in the coming days.

The USA will endure the peak of pandemic in the coming days

The US President Donald Trump described the dip in the numbers of new infections and deaths as a good sign, but he warned of more deaths as the pandemic neared its “peak” in the country. The USA has reported 337,274 confirmed infections and 9,619 deaths from COVID-19, which is by far the highest tally in the world. Germany also reported a drop in the number of new cases and deaths in one week. Earlier, the US government had indicated that the total number of deaths in the country might reach 100,000 to 200,000.

“Too early to say if cases would drop off quickly.”

New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo (1) reported 594 new deaths giving an overall total of 4,159 deaths in New York on Sunday. The number of new cases and deaths were lowest in a week. The Governor said that there were now 122,000 New York residents who had been infected with the coronavirus. He also reported that nearly 75% of patients who have required hospitalisation had now been discharged. It seems that it will take some time until things get back to normal once again. Governor Andrew Cuomo also informed that it was too early to know if cases would drop off quickly after the apex, or if they would decline slowly.
