Nasdaq is planning to launch bitcoin futures in Q1 2019 making sure that the Bitcoin Futures satisfy regulations of Commodities Futures Trading Commission.

Despite the recent market crash, large institutions are showing up interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. According to Bloomberg, sources are saying that Nasdaq is planning to launch bitcoin futures in Q1 2019. Currently, Nasdaq is making sure that the Bitcoin Futures Offering should satisfy all regulations of Commodities Futures Trading Commission. The 2nd largest exchange in the world wants to offer bitcoin futures trading to its customers.

Earlier, Goldman Sachs had launched Bitcoin non-deliverable forwards contract which is somewhat similar but not a futures contract but rather a derivative.

The Bitcoin Futures by Nasdaq will be tradeable on the stock exchange which will open up the opportunity of investing in cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin to millions of traders worldwide. The Nasdaq bitcoin futures offering is expected to boost the price of bitcoin as the market cap is expected to rise massively.
