Kakao, with Ground X, launched its cryptocurrency Klay which will be listed on Upbit Indonesia exchange on 26th September. The cryptocurrency will also be listed on Upbit Singapore, but a date has not been finalized yet.
Kakao, with its subsidiary Ground X, developed a public blockchain platform known as Klaytn last year. They have chosen these platforms for the listing as they wish to become an Asia-based platform in the future. Ground X has also partnered with Samsung Electronics for the Klaytn platform.
This collaboration between Klaytn and Ground X has produced various blockchain applications and a wallet that contains Klay cryptocurrency for Samsung phones.
Other partners of Ground X include LG Group and Hanwha Group. A biopharmaceutical firm Celltrion and other gaming companies are a part of the partnership as well.
