The Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, who is known for films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Black Friday, is backing a blockchain startup. The platform aims to bring international independent movies to Indian customers that do not get a wide theatrical release. The Indian government is also on board with the technology as the blockchain jobs in the country are rising.

According to the Screendaily report, Anurag Kashyap said that blockchain technology could help him solve the Indian distribution conundrum. He added that technology could bring transparency and solve lots of other problems that filmmakers in India face. He said that the platform is so transparent that you can find out who is watching the film and where.

The beta version of myNK is out.

The beta version of the blockchain-backed OTT platform is now out. The Bollywood director also talked about the potential competition from streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon. He believes that the Indian movie lovers are being deprived of International cinema that has a wide audience in the country, and myNK aims to solve that problem. India’s first blockchain-based video-on-demand platform was launched through India and Singapore-based MinersInc.
