Founder and Editor-in-chief of crowdfunded media outlet, Honk Kong Free Press, Tom Grundy alleged BItpay for suspending funds without any notice.

Founder and Editor-in-chief of crowdfunded media outlet, Honk Kong Free Press, Tom Grundy lashed out on Bitpay. He claimed that crypto exchange has refused to transfer their donation for three weeks without any good reason. Because of the protests, Hong Kong Free Press (HKPF) had asked for donations in BTC via Bitpay.

Tom Grundy further advised people not to use Bitpay and alleged them of charging very high fees and having horrible customer service. He also tweeted to Co-founder of Bitpay, Tony Gallippi saying they need to resolve the issue and he is ready to go to war with publicity and legal action. Tom Grundy thanked people who donated 14,817 Hong Kong dollars in bitcoin since 2015.

This is not the first time that the crypto exchange has suspended crypto donations without any prior notice. Earlier an organization called Amazon Watch who accepted crypto donation via Bitpay for recent Amazon forest fires. The company alleged that exchange suspended their worth $100,000 donations without any prior notice. So far the Bitpay has not responded to the allegations of Free Press.
