FBI Seized $250k Worth of Assets of a Twitter Crypto Con

The FBI successfully seized (1) $250,000 from a crypto currency con artist who's name was previously pointed out by ZachXBT, an on-chain sleuth. The FBI took possession of assets worth more than a quarter of a million dollars belonging.

It had been nearly four months after ZachXBT, a well-known on-chain detective, had disclosed Senecal's actual name when the news of the seizure broke. This happened when the former conducted a comprehensive study of his many cons.

The FBI has taken possession of ETH, NFTs, and a fancy watch

The formal statement released by the FBI on February 4 states that Chase Senecal's luxury watch & crypto holdings were taken from Brunswick, Maine, in October 2022. The FBI posted the notification.

An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch with a value of $41,000 and 86.5 Ethereum (ETH), which had a value of more than $116,000 at the time of the seizure, are among the items that were taken into custody.

In addition, the FBI seized a Doodle Non-Fungible Token (NFT) with a value of $9,361 and a Bored Ape Yacht Club Non-Fungible Token (BAYC NFT) with a value of $95,495.

The FBI confiscated more than two hundred fifty thousand dollars worth of property. As per the bureau's statement, Chase Senecal has until April 4 to seek restoration of his assets. When this article was published, the specifics of the procedures that had occurred against Senecal were unknown.

On February 3, an on-chain detective by the name of ZachXBT stated in a Twitter thread that his research into Senecal's frauds was a factor in the FBI's seizure.

According to the allegations, Chase Senecal, also called Horror (HZ), was responsible for exploiting a Twitter panel to take control of many accounts. Among these accounts are @Zeneca, @ezuxyz, and @deekaymotion, to name just a few.

According to reports, the crypto currency con artist spent significant sums to get unauthorized access to the Twitter accounts of well-known crypto currency projects.

After that, he continued by allocating the funds to the abovementioned initiatives. ZachXBT made the discovery that led to the identification of Senecal when he spotted him flaunting the fancy watch that the FBI had confiscated in October.
