Fashion brand Salvatore opens Ethereum NFT booth

Luxury fashion brand Salvatore Ferragamo is joining a growing number of designers entering the NFT ranks. As part of a new concept store opening in New York City’s Soho district, Ferragamo put an NFT booth where customers can create their Ethereum NFTs from a menu of features.

NFTs are unique tokens on a blockchain like Ethereum or Solana and signify ownership over an asset, like a piece of digital art.

All NFTs created at the Ferragamo booth will be free to visitors, but only 256 can be minted in total. The brand has partnered with the artist Shxpir4 to create the traits for its NFTs.

For now, the partnership with Shxpir also includes a small capsule collection of tees and sweatshirts featuring the artwork, starting at $350, with proceeds going toward the New York LGBTQ organization, The Center. (1)

Shxpir is no stranger to high-fashion NFTs; the artist also worked with Coach this month to develop colorful holographic.

In a press release, Ferragamo said its NFT booth is a “multi-sensory” that “blends the worlds of Web3.”

“One of the main aims we set out to achieve with the NFT project was to make it an inherent experience,” Vitale said.

Ferragamo said NFTs might seem gimmicky to some, but they may feel like a next-generation photo booth to others.
