Ex-Coinbase President hired by Moonpay as President

Asiff Hirji, a veteran of the cryptocurrency industry and a former president of Coinbase Inc, has joined (1) MoonPay, a financial technology business that offers solutions for cryptocurrency payments.

MoonPay's operations will benefit greatly from Asiff Hirji's extensive knowledge of blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi). Hirji will take on the role of President at MoonPay.

The company's goal is to become the world's most successful Web3 infrastructure provider, and its primary focus is boosting crypto adoption. Thus, Asiff Hirji will be an excellent addition to MoonPay's team.

In addition, Hirji served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Coinbase, the most successful cryptocurrency startup in the world, from 2017 to 2019 respectively.

Hirji successfully grew the company's volume by more than 40 times and increased its revenue to one billion dollars. In addition to this, he was on the cusp of introducing new products for Coinbase and expanding operations to other regions.

Before joining Coinbase, Hirji worked as an Operating Advisor for Andreessen Horowitz between October 2016 and December 2017, as the Chief Restructuring Officer of Hewlett Packard Inc. between November 2014 and March 2017, and as the President and Chief Operating Officer of TD Ameritrade between July 2005 and October 2006. Coinbase is a digital currency exchange platform.

At the beginning of this month, MoonPay announced that Lindsey Haswell, formerly Blockchain.com's Chief Legal and Administrative Officer of Blockchain.com, will serve as the company's Chief Legal Officer.

Also, it hired José Nuo, a payments veteran who was earlier the Vice President at Wyre and Checkout.com, to serve as Director of Sales Strategy.
