Ethereum has hit a significant milestone as of today, over 200,000 ERC20 smart contracts are based on Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum has often been targeted for scalability issues. Now competing with new blockchain platforms, the blockchain network has managed to cross over 200,000 ERC20 tokens based on its platform. The open-source software blockchain network was designed by Vitalik Buterin, Gavin Wood, and Joseph Lubin in 2015. ETH cryptocurrency has the second-largest market cap of $25 billion after bitcoin.

This blockchain network reached this milestone just a few months after CEO of Ethereum, Vitaly Dmitriyevich announced that they would soon resolve the scalability issue of the platform with ethereum 3.1. At the end of last year, it was reported that more than 90% of all Dapps and smart contracts are hosted on this blockchain network. Decentralized apps like Ethlance, Arogan, uPort, and Ethe Tweet are built on this blockchain network. Achieving 200,000 ERC20 tokens is another feather in its cap.
