Japan’s creator of mobile games released a $30 million investment fund engaged in digital currencies and blockchain.

Gumi is a publisher of popular games like, Brave Frontier and Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius, on which it filled in as an associate alongside Square-Enix and the other firm, Alim.

As indicated by a report from VentureBeat, the new fund is being headed by Gumi’s CEO and founder, Hironao Kunimitsu and in addition Miko Matsumura, the founder of a digital currency exchange, Evercoin.

As per another declaration, White and Case LLP, the law firm suggested the formation of the fund.

Kunimitsu revealed to the production in an announcement,

“We decided to create a fund that enables us to engage more directly with early-stage blockchain and cryptocurrency startups, in order to be more effective partners and have a real impact in the market.”

As the fund is just introduced, it has made a few investments in the circle. It incorporates stakes in Basis, the organisation  behind various stablecoins, and maybe less shockingly Robot Cache, which is hoping to fabricate a blockchain controlled contender to the gaming distribution platform, Steam.

Matsumura disclosed to GamesBeat that the fund would directly put investments in both tokens and equity.

He was cited saying:

“We like early stage. We invest in equity or tokens. We like financial services. We like game technologies, and we believe there is a strong connection between gaming and crypto.”

Regardless of whether the more grounded convergence of gaming and blockchain happens as intended is still to be seen, however different other major firms in the gaming industry, like the developer Ubisoft and gaming engine Unity, are seeking the technology for future implementations.
