Crypto.com accepts Apple Pay for crypto purchases

Crypto exchange and payments company Crypto.com (CRO) recently announced that it now accepts Apple Pay in its app for US users.

According to a Crypto.com announcement, the company’s app will allow users to seamlessly purchase cryptocurrencies using Apple Pay, a popular mobile payment solution built into all Apple iPhones.

The new functionality is only available now to users in the US, excluding residents of New York state and US Territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands). However, the exchange plans to roll out the feature “progressively” to other countries in the future. (1)

According to crypto.com, the feature will gradually expand to other countries.

Users must first add their debit or credit card to Apple Wallet on their iPhone to use the new payment option. From then on, the Apple payments app can easily be used to pay for crypto purchases, the announcement said.

Per the purchase instruction, a “2.99% [ processing fee] is charged” for each ticket purchase.

Crypto.com regularly ranks in the top five global exchanges by spot volume and claims its matching engine supports 2.7 million transactions per second with 50-microsecond core latency. Additionally, seamless USD transfers are available via integrations with Silver gate and Circle. (2)
