Well-known public speaker and co-founder of the cryptocurrency news website Cointelegraph, Toni Lane Casserly passed away at the young age of 29. Ms. Casserly’s spouse and children revealed on Tuesday that the crypto entrepreneur passed away last week. According to news reports, Ms. Casserly had not been well for some time before passing away last week in Texas. Her father announced on a Facebook post that Casserly had not been well since returning from a trip to California in August.

She also ran a charity funded by bitcoin that provided on-the-ground aid in Sierra Leone amid the Ebola crisis in Africa, according to her profile. Casserly founded Cointelegraph in 2013 as a crypto-focused publication. The startup has become a successful independent digital media resource in the world that delivers 24/7 news from the crypto industry. She was given names such as “The Joan of Arc of Blockchain” and “Young Star of Bitcoin” by her friends and various publications because of how much she influenced the crypto industry at such a young age.
