On 23rd Aug, a Chinese student, Ye Jingwang was kidnapped from Hurstville, Southern Sydney at 10 a.m. $1.27 mn ‘Bitcoin ransom’ asked by kidnappers.

On August 23rd, a 20-year-old Chinese student, Ye Jingwang was kidnapped for ‘Bitcoin ransom’ from Woids Ave, Hurstville in Southern Sydney around 10 a.m.

Following the kidnapping, two separate videos were sent to his parents in which he was blindfolded and bloodied. He is seen begging his father to pay the ransom.

The kidnappers asked for $1.27 million ‘Bitcoin ransom,’ and it was reported that his parents flew to Australia the next day and paid the ransom. He was found safe and well by the NSW Police, but they didn’t confirm if the family had paid the ransom or not.

Police investigated the case, and with their extensive search and rescue operation, they were able to locate Ye at Mooney Mooney in the Central Coast on Sunday, September 1st around 5:30 in the evening.

Ye Jingwang has been reunited with his family, and no arrest or charges have been laid at this stage as the investigation continues.
