Blockchain-based streaming platform DLive announced to migrate to TRON blockchain and will join the BitTorrent ecosystem.

BitTorrent announced that DLive, the popular blockchain-based content sharing platform, will be joining the BitTorrent ecosystem and begin the migration to the TRON blockchain. BLive, the live streaming platform introduced by BitTorrent, will be merged into the DLive platform.

DLive will use the BitTorrent File-Sharing System.

According to the announcement, DLive will advertise products and services on BitTorrent and use the BitTorrent File-Sharing System, a distributed file sharing and storage system, as part of an effort to further decentralized its streaming content. DLive currently operates on the Lino blockchain. The need for a decentralized video sharing platform increased in the crypto community after YouTube’s recent censorship debacle.

Justin praises the decentralized live-streaming platform.

Tron founder and CEO Justin Sun said that DLive is one of the best real-world examples of what is possible when you combine blockchain and digital media. He further said that this live streaming platform is a great solution for live media producers. Think of how valuable live streaming content is already to centralized social media platforms who take ownership and advantage of their users’ hard work, he added.

The CEO of DLive, Charles Wayn, said that they are ecstatic to have the opportunity to be part of the BitTorrent ecosystem and their goal of empowering creators and rewarding communities is one step closer with the amplification of this new venture, he added.
