The tech entrepreneur Brook Pierce, known for his role with Block. One and the EOS token, as well as for co-founding Tether, originally called Realcoin, has officially announced to run for the United States President in 2020. Brook filed as a candidate with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on 6th July, according to the FEC’s website, though he first announced his bid to run for the President over the weekend. Earlier, the famous musician Kanye West had announced to run for the US President.

Pierce is yet to pick his Vice President candidate.

According to the filing, the Block co-founder has not yet named his vice-presidential candidate. The filing deadlines to get on the ballot in states of Indiana, Maine, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, and Texas have already passed, and Nevada’s filing deadline for presidential nominations will pass in three days of time. The crypto entrepreneur’s highly ambitious run for the President might help bring crypto and blockchain to gain more mainstream exposure as the Presidential elections are scheduled to take place on 3rd November.
