Bitmain, the Chinese crypto mining hardware producer giant has launched cryptocurrency index on its website BTC.com providing the market data of top 17 cryptocurrencies by market cap.
Bitmain Cryptocurrency Index
Mining hardware giant Bitmain has launched its own cryptocurrency index for the prices of 17 top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization which will showcase the prices of 17 cryptocurrencies which have the top market capitalization in US dollar.
The cryptocurrency index will fetch its data from top crypto exchanges allowing users to decide which of the exchanges are eligible to inform the service considering their market reputation, compliances, tranparency, market stability and the volume of trades.
Inclusions and Exclusions
The list of exchanges includes Binance, Bittrex, Bitfinex, Bitstamp, Gemini, GDAX, Kraken, Poloniex, Houbi and Itbit.
The Bitmain cryptocurrency index will update each second showing the real-time price of each of the cryptocurrencies along with a reference price for each day.
The 17 top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization as chosen by the company are BTC, XRP, ETH, XLM, BCH, EOS, LTC, ADA, XMR, TRX, IOTA, DASH, NEM, NEO, ETC, ZEC, ICX, and OMG.
However coins such as USDT (Tether), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Tezos (XTZ), VeChain (VET), Dogecoin (DOGE), Maker (MKR), Ontology (ONT) and 0x (ZRX) which are ahead of some of the coins being listed on the crypto index according to market capitalization by CoinMarketCap are excluded from the list.
