Indian authorities seized $5 million in connection with an alleged crypto scam involving Morris coin that has duped investors out of $162 million.

Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday arrested three people in a bitcoin job fraud case. According to the Times of India report, the three arrested accused of bitcoin fraud revealed to the police names of 23 members of their gang who ran the sophisticated scam.

As reported earlier, police arrested Rakesh Kumar Singh, Bittu Yadav, and Pradeep Deo from Chinh in a bitcoin job fraud case. The three members of the gang revealed the names of three scammers, 17 pickers, and three bitcoin vendors.

The gang lured in people by promising jobs overseas and then scammed them of their money. The police has not revealed how much money the gang has scammed from people.

The three arrested also revealed that they were first contacted through social media and then were asked to send their CV on Whatsapp in order to join the gang. The scammers used a three-tier mechanism to scam people off their money. It involved a scammer, a picker, and bitcoin vendor, who all had their roles assigned to pull off the scams.
