The Australian stand-up comedian and talk show host Jim Jefferies revealed that he bought one bitcoin for $10,000 from the crypto trading platform Robinhood just for a laugh. In a June 30 episode of Jefferies’ podcast, I Don’t Know About That, Jim revealed to “Invest Diva” Kiana Danial that he was slightly more informed about cryptocurrency than his comedy team apparently knew — his podcast staff typically select topics the comedian has little or no knowledge of.

“I bought bitcoin as a bit of a laugh just to see what crypto is all about.”

The well-known stand-up comedian revealed that he owns one bitcoin. He said that he bought it as a bit of a laugh just on the Robinhood app just to see what this crypto is all about. The Australian born comic said he currently owns $9,612 “worth of a Bitcoin,” but Danial determined Jefferies hadn’t yet transferred his token to a wallet and, of course, ‘not your keys, not your Bitcoin.’ Jim Jefferies holds more bitcoin than the tech billionaire Elon Musk, who confirmed earlier that his Bitcoin holdings were still at a measly 0.25 BTC — $2,347 at the time of writing. Earlier, comedian Bill Burr had expressed his interest in investing bitcoin.
