The case of ‘Crypto vs. RBI’ was on 8th August and the hearing was done in Supreme Court of India. The government’s counsel produced the IMC drafted bill on cryptocurrency and requested to adjourn the case till January 2020.

Mohammed Danish is a crypto advocate and the co-founder of Crypto Kanoon. He said that the Apex Court had divided the case into two parts where the first part is the banning of cryptocurrencies in India, which will be heard in January 2020 now.

The second part of the case is the ‘Internet and Mobile Association of India vs. RBI’ which is related to the RBI banning the cryptocurrencies.

The case that was filed by Siddharth Dalmia on October 31, 2017, was adjourned twice in the past before today’s hearing. This was the first hearing ever since the bill by IMC was made public.

The community was aware of the fact that the draft bill won’t interfere with the Supreme Court’s judgment. This was done because Apex Court will listen to the case once the bill is discussed in the parliament in the coming winter session.
